About Us
The Huguenot Beekeepers Association is a group of experienced and beginner beekeepers that are dedicated to promoting beekeeping in our communities and supporting each other in our beekeeping activities. We meet on the first Thursday of each month in the Powhatan Village Auditorium from 7-9pm.
We are a part of the the Powhatan County office of Virginia Cooperative Extension, which is your local connection to Virginia’s land-grant universities, Virginia Tech and Virginia State University. Through educational programs based on research and developed with input from local stakeholders, we help the people of Powhatan County improve their lives. We provide education through programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources, Family and Consumer Sciences, 4-H Youth Development, and Community Viability.
Our mission is to foster a love of bees in our communities through learning, experience, and opportunities.
Huguenot Beekeepers Associations goals are to:
Promote new beekeepers in our area through education, technical support, and long term viability.
Exchange beekeeping best practices to enhance all apiaries.
Be the source of the latest technical advice from experts.
Support the Virginia Beekeepers Association for legislature and other matters.
Have fun!
