Report a Swarm
Honeybees may from time to time form a swarm, a natural mechanism for bees to proliferate by splitting one hive into two or more. While a swarm is generally very docile and harmless, they can be intimidating to those unaccustomed to the sight.
If you spot a cluster of bees on a tree branch, fence post, or other area of your property, you can reference this list of individuals for removal support. Please note that this list is provided as a courtesy, but Huguenot Beekeepers as a club is not involved in swarm catching.
By reaching out to any one on this list, you are allowing the individual to intervene, giving the bees the greatest chance of becoming a strong and successful new colony. Please be prepared to let the appropriate responder know when the swarm was last seen, the closest intersection/landmark/physical address, how high up the swam is located, and provide a photo is possible. If the bees are in the ground, they are not honey bees.
